Greetings, traveler.
The Kal-Arath Kickstarter is now live!!!
I’m very excited to be bringing my sword and sorcery world to life in print -
Not one, but two print zines, as well as lots of digital assets including Spanish translation, custom character sheet, printer friendly “art free” version of core rules and more.
Kal-Arath is a 2d6 system designed for solo or group play - it leans heavily into its epic sword and sorcery roots and presents a world rife with conflict, where fighting monks offer blood sacrifice to demon khans and horse lords war in giant wooden ships on the endless grasslands of Kal-Arath.
You can play as anything you like - the classless system relies on the choice of attributes and skills, rather than rigid classes; you might play a warrior with a demonic pact allowing him to cast powerful blood magic, or a thief turned fighter like Conan…
Whatever you choose, the second, follow up zine “Valley of the Black Ziggurat” will put your character to the test: a deadly new region to explore, as well as adding new tables to the core book’s region for expanded points of interest, encounters, monsters and much more.
These two zines are also packed with artwork as most of my friends have come to expect from my work now, I hope!
Upper tiers of the Kickstarter include extra zines, custom artwork, and even entry into the official Kal-Arath fanatics club, “The Black Legion,” complete with certificate and free Kal-Arath print zines for life!!!
Stretch goals range from additional rules for trading and engaging in mass combat added to the print zine, all the way up to a third zine being added on if we hit our $10,000 stretch goal - all stretch goal add-ons will be received by all backers!
The rest of the work is completely done, so you’ll have this in your hands just as quick as I can get it printed (stretch goals will only add a few weeks as I complete new art and writing).
The future of Kal-Arath is in your hands, now - I greatly appreciate your support, shares, or word of mouth about this project and I hope to be able to keep putting out cool stuff for you all.
This looks great! Just backed it, and I hope it does really well. Best of luck with the Kickstarter!
Looks good!
