I’d love to hear more about the rules interactions - my understanding of Pendragon is that there are little systems or procedures for nearly every conceivable thing, so seeing that in action (even just for one set of rolls) would be great.
I’ll make sure the next post is more nitty gritty on mechanicals! Still learning the system so sure to make mistakes but I’ll do the write up with mechanics in italics. Thanks for reading!
Also interested in hearing the mechanics that you use, especially the way you decide what happens next plot-wise, how you integrate hunts (incl. who hosts them), any random encounters, and so on. Good work so far, though.
Such a great reminder that, when playing solo games, we do it for our own entertainment. We don't have to be perfect. We don't have to justify our choices or interpretations of the rules.
This is pure gold. Could you make a small post focusing on your solo rules/mechanics? I plan to to play this solo too :) (Also, I think the starter set I ordered has a solo mode?)
Yes, yes and yes! Wonderful! I am really looking forward to your journey with Pendragon. I picked up the starter set but could not get anybody interested in a game. And so having just come off of watching the Green Knight and The Seven Deadly Sins anime with my kids I decided I would run my own version, with my own take and histories. I have always loved how Japanese anime will take something everyone knows and just twist into something unexpected. I really look forward to more of your Pendragon posts. They go extremely well with my morning cup of coffee. (my morning joy).
Really like this beginning!! Very interested to see how you handle Pendragon as a solo game, so more soon please!
Cheers thank you so much
Echoing Colin above: this is fantastic!

Really digging this!

Awesome!
Did you already get the 6E stuff in? If so, how do they compare to 1E (which looks fantastic in those pics)?
physicals are not in the mail yet. I am a sucker for 1980s, so I’m pretty biased toward the original edition artwork.

Hunts I’m not too sure about yet as I don’t think they’re in the 6e core…but I think there IS one in the starter box which is on its way to me!
so cool castle! really dig your dedication to the vibe lol seen your stuff always make me excited to play solo
Hey, thanks so much! I hope to improve at Pendragon it’s a bit overwhelming at the moment!
Water colour looking good! Love the art style for this so far.

I get caught up in the “MUST DO IT RIGHT” thing all the time before realizing as long as I’m enjoying things….it’s fine.

Absolutely. The next one will have all my mechanics notes in italics!
Awesome! Thank you :)

Pendragon is a fantastic system. We started playing through The Boy King campaign way back when.
It’s awesome but man oh man. So. Many. Rules.
